# Source register and evidence boundaries

Checked 22 October 2026. Primary/official documentation only for platform behavior. Original examples and editorial verification methods are identified separately. No source establishes that a UI workflow was executed during this research.

## Favicon

- https://favicon.io/favicon-converter/ — Existing-image conversion and simple square input advice. Public text read; no private asset uploaded.
- https://favicon.io/html-favicon/ — Icon link formats, HTML head and complementary assets. Public text read. Does not justify replacing an existing app manifest blindly.
- https://favicon.io/tutorials/how-to-add-a-favicon-to-a-website-ico-format/ — ICO installation and browser cache troubleshooting. Public text read.
- https://favicon.io/wordpress-favicon/ — Practical use of android-chrome-512x512.png for WordPress. Public text read; corroborated by WordPress's square 512px minimum.
- https://wordpress.org/documentation/article/create-a-favicon/ — Settings → General for 6.5+, older Customizer path, square 512px minimum. Public text read. Actual site version/access unknown.

- https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Learn_web_development/Core/Structuring_content/Webpage_metadata — Head metadata and favicon markup. Public text read. Does not establish the folder convention of the reader's framework.

## AI exercise

- https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/prompt-engineering — Explicit task/context/examples and non-deterministic responses. Public text read. Used for principles, not a promise that prompts prevent fabrication.
- https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/optimizing-llm-accuracy — Context, evaluation and accuracy limitations. Public text read.
- https://developers.openai.com/cookbook/examples/chatgpt/chatgpt_prompt_guide/chatgpt_prompt_guide — Additional background on scope, missing information and output checks. Public text read; the tutorial's example notes/prompts/ledger are original, not copied samples.

The fictional workshop notes, claim ledger and reference brief were authored for this exercise. They are not a real event, client project, booking offer or live AI transcript. Checking the reference against its supplied notes is different from testing an AI tool. No actual client data was submitted.

## Social image and metadata

- https://www.photopea.com/ — Tool destination; not a record of an editor session.
- https://www.photopea.com/tuts/make-grid-collages-from-images/ — Official page identifies the free editor and documents File → New custom dimensions. Only that basic workflow is used, not its collage process.
- https://www.photopea.com/learn/text — Type tool, point/paragraph text and editable type layers. Public text read.
- https://www.photopea.com/learn/opening-saving — PSD preservation versus JPG/PNG export and output dimensions. Public text read.
- https://www.photopea.com/learn/image-size — Background check on scaling versus canvas changes. Public text read; the tutorial avoids unnecessary resizing/cropping commands.
- https://ogp.me/ — Four basic metadata fields, image structured properties and alternative text; ordering matters for multiple images. Public text read. No universal image-size or platform-preview guarantee is claimed.
- https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a525301/sharing-articles-or-links?lang=en — Link preview frame 1200×627, approximately 1.91:1; composer preview after pasting a URL. Public text read. Link shares are distinct from image posts/ads.
- https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a521928 — Website-sharing requirements: 5 MB maximum, minimum 1200×627, metadata and accessibility of image to LinkedIn. Public text read. Ad-specific specs on the same page are not treated as link-preview specs.
- https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a6233775 — Post Inspector refresh; changes apply to future posts, not existing preview cards. Public text read.
- https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/a525063 — Missing metadata and cached content; guidance to allow 48 hours. Public text read. The article does not promise instant refresh.
- https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/ — Verified tool destination linked by LinkedIn's help page. Tool UI, login and actual inspection result not exercised.

## Excluded or limited research

Meta's webmaster documentation and Sharing Debugger returned HTTP429 during this pass. No detailed Meta UI, size limit or cache procedure was inferred from that failed retrieval.

The former X large-image card documentation URL redirected to a generic current documentation overview. No X-specific tag, dimension or validation instructions are included based on that redirect.

No live FTS site is used as the teaching fixture. example.com addresses are explicit placeholders, not real assets or tested destinations.

## Verification vocabulary

- **Researched:** the official source text was retrieved and checked against the claim.
- **Locally checked:** document/example structure or internal consistency was inspected in this packet. This is not a deployed-site or UI test.
- **Reproduced:** reserved for a future actual run with recorded tool/version, inputs, outputs and observations.
- **Published:** not done by this work.

Keep these distinctions in page labels, screenshot captions and release notes. Do not turn “source says it works” into “we tested it.”
